How to Win as Clown in Flicker

Clown is a social speedrun. You need the table angry at you and the Murderer uninterested in you. Fail either and you are a corpse with a funny name. The video in the middle of this page is a dedicated Clown win path. The text is the rules the video assumes you already know.

Stay alive until the vote

Note Evil if you can find them: “I will hang myself if you skip me.” Some Murderers take that deal. Some stab you. Claiming Survivor is fine. Claiming Medic is how you get tested and die. Do not wander into obvious Ambusher bait. You have no night action until you are dead. Treat the night like a Survivor who is allergic to knives.

Earn the hang without earning the stab

Be wrong in a small, quotable way. Misread a Detective card out loud. Vote a Muffin Man “as a joke” then reverse. On low elo, AFK works. On high elo, AFK is a Murderer magnet. The etiquette video on the Good guide is useful because it tells you which behaviors tables already hate — steal those, gently.

The hostage

Take Savior if they exist. Take Psychic if they outed you and still did not vote you. Take Murderer only if you promised Good a gift or if Evil already threw you. After a Savior rez, you are a living Clown again with a spent or unspent knife depending on timing — the role page spells the edge cases. Do not celebrate in ghost chat before the kill confirms.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers for the searches that follow a bad round.

Can I win without killing?

The win is the vote. The kill is the extra. You still want the hang.

Should I tell town I am Clown?

Only when the votes are already there. Early claims get you murdered or ignored.

Does Witch ruin Clown?

Not in a way that matters. Your power is post-vote.

Is Clown in Classic?

No.
