Roles

Flicker Clown (Neutral)

Clown is the only Neutral in Regular and Anonymous. You do not win with Good. You do not win with Evil. You win if the table hangs you, then you drag one living player into the dirt. Getting stabbed at night is a loss. As of 4.4 the win stamps the instant the vote lands — a later Savior rez does not steal the Neutral clip. You still want the hostage knife. It is a tight, rude role, and it is why experienced tables hesitate to hammer the loudest person on day one.

Updated:

The win condition, exactly

Voted out, not killed. 4.4 pays the Clown win immediately when that vote resolves. Then you choose a player to take with you. Medic cannot stop that kill. Witch can “witch” you with no real effect until you are already using the dead ability. Savior can still stand you back up, and 4.4 also grants Murderer immunity the night after a rez — but they cannot un-award the Clown win. Write the hostage plan in the journal anyway; town still needs to see it.

How to get the rope

Be suspicious without being the first corpse. AFK works on low-skill tables and gets you murdered on high-skill ones. Claiming Evil is a known Clown tell. Better: pick a small, dumb fight, misreport a vote, or sit on a Detective clue wrong enough to look guilty. Side with Evil privately so Murderer does not farm you, then let town do the hanging. Do not beg Psychic to out you in public unless you already have the votes.

Who you take with you

If you struck a deal, honor it or never get one again. If you did not, take the player who blocked your win path: Savior, Psychic, or the Murderer if you want to throw Evil for sport. Taking a Survivor is a wasted nuke. The YouTube Clown guide in the middle of this page is a full round path, not a meme montage.
