Flicker Anonymous Mode
Anonymous is Regular’s role list wearing JJ Studios’ faces. You do not bring Mr. Clean. You do not bring VIP gold. You pick a gender bucket, the server hands you a preset, and the table has to argue journals instead of hats. 4.4 finally lets you tick more than one gender and remembers the pick. That is the whole pitch.
What stays the same
Fifteen roles. Five mutexes. Clown. Ambusher at 15. Map vote. Party queue. Twin Whisper. Savior immunity after a rez. If a guide talks Regular, it talks Anonymous unless it mentions coins, scrolls, or the mannequin. Do not relearn the game. Relearn the wardrobe.
What 4.4 changed
Pre-game Anonymous menu: select multiple genders, selection persists between matches. Custom avatars already gained pronouns in Regular; Anonymous still uses he/him and she/her on the male and female presets from the 4.2.2 pass, with a non-binary bucket that replaced the old LGBT+ label in 4.0a. April Fools still hijacks this mode — Guests in 2025, Gillbert in 2024, banana suits in 2023. Those were one-day jokes, not a new list.
When to queue it
Teaching a friend who will freeze on cosmetics. Playing on a night when you do not want “gold name = tryhard” tells. Recording a video so the cast reads on camera — Funneh’s nine-million-view lights-out session is this fantasy. Switch back to Regular when you want to spend the 4.4 coins you just farmed.

Do scrolls work here?
They sit on the account. Anonymous does not show the outfit they paid for. Role odds still exist if the pass is on.
Can I pick a specific preset?
You pick buckets. The server picks the face. That is the mode.
Is Voice Chat allowed?
Voice Chat servers want custom characters and the standard list. Anonymous is the mute-cast cousin.
Did Classic share this cast?
Classic used the 2017 House cast. It is gone. Anonymous is not a Classic revival.
