Flicker Wiki

Flicker Classic Mode (Removed)

Classic was the 2017 game glued onto the 2020 lobby: Investigator, Medic, Psychic, Survivor, Murderer, House only, no Clown, no Assassin, no cosmetics, no game passes. It came back, taught a generation that “Detective” used to be Investigator, and then 4.3.2 deleted it on January 9, 2026. This page is a tombstone so search results stop sending you into a dead queue button.

What the list was

Four Good seats counting Survivors as a pile, one Murderer. Investigator printed clues the way Detective does now. No mutex crossword. No Neutral. If you learned Flicker from a 2018 YouTube video, this is the ruleset you remember. Regular stole the clue printer, renamed it Detective, and piled fourteen other jobs on top.

Why it died

Two queues starved both modes. House-only made the vote a formality. Passes and badges did not apply, so the Regular economy had no reason to visit. 4.3.2 also shipped chat-verified matchmaking the same day — the studio clearly wanted one modern queue, not a museum. It is not an event. It is not coming back on a calendar we can see.

What to play instead

Vote House in Regular if you want the floorplan. Queue Anonymous if you want the old faces without the mannequin. Read Detective on the Good Team page if you miss Investigator. Do not install a “Classic private server” script. That is someone else’s experience with this game’s name.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers for the searches that follow a bad round.

Can I still select Classic in the lobby?

No. 4.3.2 removed the door.

Did badges earn in Classic?

While it existed, badges and passes were ignored. Win badges now track Regular / Anonymous / Voice Chat.

Is Investigator in Regular?

Detective is the replacement. Same job, new name, mutex world.

Will House leave the Regular pool?

No. Classic dying did not exile the map.
